Getting ready for the new School Year!
27.08.2014: Wolfgang is leaving to Congo in a few days and is looking forward to seeing all our friends there and work on different important matters which need our help on site.In Kinshasa he is planning to work on the renewal of the registration of our legal Congolese association, prepare different materials for Mushapo like spare parts for the generator, material for new uniforms of the children, food for a month, tickets to fly to Tshikapa etc. In Tshikapa the registration of our land in Mushapo needs to be renewed and we need to work things out with the head chief Mungamba to get his agreement so we can continue with the construction of the school buildings without having to pay big bribes.
Lenkas health is doing much better. She is doing rehabilitation and starting exercising to get back in shape so she can also come to Congo in a few months. For that reason we need to find good accommodations for our little family once Lenka and Anissa arrive. We are very thankful for our friend Andreas who – once again – was able to help with sponsorship of our tickets.
We have some very sad news from Mushapo. Pierre, our school director, lost his little baby to malaria! We are trying to find out why they were not able to save this baby, but we already know that the medical care in the countryside is really bad and we will see what we can do to improve it. Also a fire destroyed a lot of the lemon trees and part of our new manioc field.
There is also some very inspiring news: the regional department of the Ministry of Education chose from all schools in the area ours where they want to train teachers from that region! That is quite an honor and of course also a big responsibility as we need to prepare for that.
Jean is waiting in Kinshasa to meet up with Wolfgang, so they can get needed supplies for Mushapo which Jean will take with him on the truck when he returns to Tshikapa.
Since everybody’s prayers worked so well for Lenkas health situation we wanted to ask for prayer this time for these different challenges ahead of us and that Ebola will not keep spreading and for peace in all these countries which are ravished with terrible wars right now. Thank you so much!
Wishing you all the best!
Greetings,
Wolfgang, Lenka and team
